LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky junior varsity football squad ended itsfive-game schedule on Sunday at Commonwealth Stadium, handing the jayveesquad of Tennessee-Chattanooga a 63-0 loss.
The Wildcats, who finished 2-3 on the season, exploded to a 49-0 half-timelead after scoring on every possession in the first half.
UK quarterback Cory Doyle threw touchdown passes to Mike Beirne, Vince Harrison and AlexHerman. On the day, Doyle completed 13 of 19 passes for 152 yards. Wildcatback-up quarterback Mark Perry also connected on a scoring pass to Beirneand finished the day with 10 of 11 passes for 95 yards.
The Kentucky defensive squad held the Mocs to only seven first downs anddid not allow the UT-C offense to cross the 50-yard line until late in thethird quarter. The Wildcat defense also forced five fumbles and allowedthe Mocs only 124 yards of total offense.
