LEXINGTON, KY — The 23rd-ranked University of Kentucky women’s tennis picked up its fourthwin of the season on Friday, Feb. 12, crushing the Michigan Wolverines 8-1.

The Wildcats (4-0) overpowered the Wolverines (1-1), winning the firstfive matches played to clinch the victory.

In No. 1 singles, UK’s Carolina Mayorga cruised past 28th-ranked DanielleLund of Michigan, 6-3, 6-2. Massoumeh Emami, Christy Sigurski, Kelly Brownand Brooke Skeen also picked up singles wins for the Cats.

In doubles action, Brown and Emami teamed up to blast Lund and BrookeHart, the nation’s 29th-ranked tandem, 8-2. Skeen and Mayorga and Sigurskiand Shannon Stafford also claimed doubles victories for UK.

The undefeated lady Cats return to the court on Wednesday, Feb. 17, whenthe Purdue Boilermakers travel to Lexington for a 2 p.m. dual match in theBoone Indoor Tennis Center on the UK campus.
