University of Kentucky women’s tennis player Christy Sigurski has been named a Division I Scholar-Athlete by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, women’s tennis coach Mark Guilbeau announced Monday.

Sigurski, a senior marketing major from Arlington, Va., was chosen for the award based on her athletic and academic achievements during the 1997-98 season. To be eligible for this honor, an individual must be a junior or senior varsity letterwinner and carry a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
