LEXINGTON, Ky.–The Kentucky women’s tennis team will try to earn their third straight Southeastern Conference victory as they face ninth-ranked Ole Miss at home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11.
The Wildcats (6-3, 2-3 SEC) come off a two-victory road swing at Auburn and Alabama. UK gave up only one point in the two matches combined. The Cats swept Alabama 9-0 on March 8. The UK doubles team of Brooke Skeen and Christy Sigurski improved their record to 6-1, and Massoumeh Emami won at No. 1 singles for the first time this season. Lori Heimerl won her first singles match in dual competition at No. 4 singles. The Cats’ 32nd-ranked doubles team of Emami and Kelly Brown come into the match with a 6-2 record, as does No. 2 singles player Kathy Herring. Freshman Brooke Skeen, playing at No. 6 singles most of the season, boasts a 7-2 record.
Ole Miss (9-2, 2-1 SEC) comes off a 5-2 victory over 12th-ranked Tennessee. The Rebels’ doubles team of Courtenay Chapman and Agnes Muzamel is ranked sixth in the nation, and Muzamel is also ranked third in singles.
The Rebels’ only two losses have come at the hands of #1 Florida and #3 Duke.
