GAINSVILLE, Fla.-The University of Kentucky men’s golf team stands 11th place after day one of competition at the Barnett Bank Gator Invitational Saturday.
petition at therAfter two rounds, the Wildcats are led by sophomore Wes Furnish and junior Chris Mueller who are both tied for 28th place with a 146. Furnish fired a 71 in the first round. Florida South’s Jeff Klauk is in first place with a 135.
This is the spring season opener for the Wildcats. The Gator Invitational field includes SEC rivals: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana State, Mississippi, South Carolina, as well as, Alabama-Birmingham, Augusta, Central Florida, South Florida, North Florida, Ohio State, Florida Southern and South Alabama.
The tournament takes place at the 6,300 yards par 70 University of Florida golf course concludes Sunday.
