LEXINGTON, Ky. – Ten Kentucky track and field athletes equaled or exceeded their personalbest on Sunday, January 25, at the Greater Boston Track Club Invitationalin Boston. Twelve athletes finished in the Top 5 of their event.

In the men’s 1-mile run, Jeffrey Limpert finished fifth after running a4:20.20, more than two minutes off his earlier time of 4:22.26. Otherpersonal best marks include Barry Pronold’s 8:50.9 and Brad Bieber’s8:58.01 in the 3000m run. Pronold’s time was nearly 25 minutes less thanhis former season best.

Amanda Collinsworth shaved one second off of her time to give her a seasonbest and fifth place in the 800-meter run. Janette Pike also took time offher season best to earn seventh place in the 800. Lutisha Shittu tooksecond place in the 55-meter high hurdles with a time of 7.82.

In field events, Andrew Vanderwagen tied for second place in the men’shigh jump. His mark of 6 feet, 6 inches, tied his season best. KeithKline finished first in the pole vault competition. Kline also set aseason best with his vault of 15-01. Noah Lockhart set a season best withhis leap of 47-07 in the triple jump, earning him third place.

While Scott Theis’s mark of 54-11.25 in the shot put didn’t give him aseason best, it earned him first place in the event. He out-threw thesecond-place finisher by nearly three inches. Matt Kavanagh didn’t throwfor a season best either, but his toss of 62-04 earned him first placehonors in the weight throw as well. Teammate Jamie Shannon came in secondplace with a throw of 59-08.50.

In the long jump, Ola Sesay once again took first place with her leap of20-09.50. Valerie Williams took second in the triple jump, and Suzie vonBernuth took second in the shot put competition.
