The University of Kentucky Baseball team (0-3, 0-0 Southeastern Conference) is preparing for its second weekend of competition, as they head to Charleston, S.C., to compete in the Franklin-Life Classic, hosted by The Citadel (0-3). UK will face The Citadel at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19. The Cats will play Old Dominion on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 10 a.m., and Richmond on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m.

Friday’s game will mark Kentucky’s fifth time to face The Citadel. UK leads the series 3-1. The Wildcats competed in The Citadel’s tournament in 1995, losing that meeting 3-0. One of these teams will record their first victory of the season, as The Citadel and UK are both winless on the season. This is the first meeting for UK against both Old Dominion (0-0) and the University of Richmond (0-0). Both teams will open their ’99 seasons in the Franklin-Life Classic.

Rounding out the six-team tournament are two SEC schools, Tennessee (2-1) and #19 South Carolina (4-0).
