LEXINGTON, Kty. – The 25th-ranked University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will try to extend its five-match winning streak as the Cats play host to #9 Vanderbilt Saturday at noon. UK (13-5, 4-5 Southeastern Conference) picked up two non-conference wins last weekend as the Wildcats defeated both Purdue and Indiana by a score of 7-2.

No. 1 singles player Massoumeh Emami improved her record to 13-5 on the season with two wins, and Emami also teamed with Kelly Brown to pick up two wins at the No. 1 doubles position. Emami and Brown have posted a 14-3 record and have risen to No. 22 in the country, while UK’s No. 2 doubles team of Christy Sigurski and Brooke Skeen are 11-2 on the year.

Vanderbilt (17-6, 8-2 SEC) is coming off a 7-2 victory over LSU. The Commodores’ doubles team of Julie Ditty and Kristy Blumberg is ranked 19th in the country, and Ditty is also No. 47 in singles.
