LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky women’s tennis players Kelly Brown and MassoumehEmami travel to Gainesville, Fla., this week to begin competition in the1999 NCAA Tennis Championships.

Brown and Emami, the nation’s 16th-ranked doubles tandem, are making theirsecond consecutive appearance in the NCAAs and will begin play on Monday,when the duo faces the 30th-ranked team of Kaysle Smashey and SandySureephong of Texas at 3:30 p.m.

Emami will also compete in singles competition, facing former national No.1 Mirela Vladulescu of Alabama-Birmingham on Monday at 9 a.m. Emami playedin the top spot for the Cats this season and is currently ranked No. 39nationally in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s poll.
