MOREHEAD, Ky. – Will Crumbaugh’s two-run home run, his second of the game and of his career, in the top of the ninth inning gave Kentucky a 10-8 win over Morehead State Wednesday afternoon at Allen Field.

With the win, Kentucky broke a three-game losing streak and moved to 6-13 on the season. Morehead State lost its fifth straight game and is 9-11-1. UK got on top early when Beau Moore led off the game with a home run over the right field wall. The Wildcats added two more runs in the second inning to take the lead, 3-0.

Morehead State scored four runs in the third inning, two on an RBI single by Jason Kennedy, to take a 4-3 lead.

A solo home run by Aaron McGlone in the fifth inning tied the game at four. The Wildcats took a 5-4 lead on Crumbaugh’s first career home run in the sixth. They stretched the lead to 7-4 with two runs in the top of the seventh.

The Eagles got a RBI single from Sean Jantzen in the bottom of the seventh to cut the lead to 7-5. Kentucky picked up an unearned run in the top of the eighth to build the lead back to three runs. MSU opened the bottom of the eighth with three consecutive doubles and tallied three runs in the inning to tie the game at eight and set the stage for Crumbaugh’s ninth inning heroics.

Breck Price, the fourth and final UK pitcher, got the win and is 1-2 on the season. R.J. Hayes, the fourth of five MSU pitchers, took the loss to move to 1-2. Price also extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
