LEXINGTON, Kty. – Brad Wilkerson and reliever Josh Fogg held Kentucky scoreless the final eight innings, and 5th-ranked Florida nailed six home runs as the Gators completed a sweep of the Wildcats 12-2 Sunday at Cliff Hagan Stadium on the UK campus.

Wilkerson (7-2) allowed all five UK hits in five innings of work, striking out seven and walking six. Fogg didnt allow a hit in four innings of work and struck out six.

Floridas Mark Ellis led off the game with a home run to right field to take a 1-0 lead. UK (12-20, 3-12) took the lead in the second. David Cheatle singled and scored Andy Green when Floridas right-fielder made an errant throw to third base. John Wilson, who extended his hitting streak to five games, knocked Cheatle in with a single.

Florida (26-8, 12-3) regained the lead in the second with a two-run double by Ellis with two outs. Jason Dill increased the lead to 5-2 with a two-run homer in the third. Florida added two runs in the fifth with a two-run homer by Greg Catalanotte off UK starter Brandon Webb. Webb (2-3) allowed nine hits and seven runs in six innings of work.

Florida scored five runs in the final three innings thanks to three homers off UK reliever Matt Borne, including a Wilkerson homer in the seventh. Borne pitched the final three innings for UK, allowing five hits and five runs. Wilson finished 2-for-4 with an RBI. Green, Cheatle and Jason Pasero had the only other Wildcat hits.

Catalanotte and Derek Nicholson had three hits apiece for Florida. Wilkerson finished 1-for-2 with two runs scored and two walks.

UK concludes its 12-game homestand this week with non-conference games against Morehead State on Tuesday and Western Carolina on Wednesday.
