LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats (5-10, 1-2 SEC) will travel to Oxford, Miss., toface the Ole Miss Rebels (8-11, 1-2 SEC) in a three-game series beginningFriday, March 19, at 7 p.m. CT.

UK and Ole Miss first met in 1908, but because of divisional play, haveonly played 32 times in the schools’ histories. The Rebels lead the series,18-14. Ole Miss beat Kentucky two of three times last season in Lexington.UK enters this weekend’s conference play on a two-game winning streak. TheWildcats beat Vanderbilt in the final game of the series Sunday, 4-1, andbeat the Miami RedHawks, 13-2, in the first midweek game of the season.UK’s bats came alive in the fifth inning of Tuesday’s game, scoring 11 runson nine hits with two men out in the inning.

Five Wildcats carry hitting streaks into this weekend’s series. JuniorBreck Price has a nine-game hitting streak, and junior Aaron McGlone hasreached base safely in eight consecutive games. Junior Jason Wolfe andsophomores Beau Moore and John Wilson currently have four-game hittingstreaks intact.

Sophomore Brandon Webb will take the mound Friday night for Kentucky. Webbpitched his first complete game Sunday against Vanderbilt, recording acareer-high ten strikeouts and picking up his first win of the season.Junior Nathan Kent will pitch Saturday for the Wildcats. Kent pitched teninnings in the conference opener, notching a career-high 11 strikeouts.Junior Ben Shaffar will close the series Sunday for the Wildcats. Shaffarhas 42 strikeouts in 29.0 innings, the current team high.

Senior Brad Henderson and sophomore Justin Huisman lead the Rebels thisyear. Henderson is batting .378, and Huisman has five home runs and 18 RBIin 18 games this season.
