LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will travel to Oxford,Miss., on Sunday, Jan. 10 to face Ole Miss at 3 p.m.

The Wildcats, who will face the next four opponents on the road, are comingoff an impressive win over Vanderbilt (70-69) on Thursday in Lexington.The Cats hope to use that win to boost their performance on the road.

“Sometimes I feel like we play better on the road,” UK senior Jaye Barnessaid. “We seem more relaxed and focused, but you have to be ready to playin every game, home or away, in the SEC.”

The Lady Rebels hold a six-game win streak versus the Cats. UK has notdefeated Ole Miss since 1991, winning 87-81 on Feb. 16 in Oxford. UK is2-14 in the overall series and 1-6 in Oxford.The Wildcats are off to their best start since the 1992-93 season with an11-3 overall record and 2-1 in the SEC. UK began the 1992-93 season withan 11-2 record. Ole Miss currently holds a 10-4 record and 1-2 in theSoutheastern Conference.

Sunday’s game will be televised live on Fox Sports South with Mike Goldbergand former Ole Miss and current WNBA Houston Comet coach Van Chancellor.Wildcat fans can also listen to the game on WLXG-AM Sports Radio 1300 withChris Cross.
