The University of Kentucky gymnastics team will take on No. 1 Georgia on Friday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum. This marks the second time in six days that the GymKats have faced the top-ranked team in the nation. UK competed against No. 1 Alabama on Feb. 26. The GymKats will honor seniors Shawnte Hall and Misty Marinik in a pre-meet ceremony before the final home meet of the season. Both seniors have competed for Kentucky since the 1996 season. The GymKats (5-5,0-3 Southeastern Conference) posted a season-high 194.925 in their loss to the Tide last weekend. Junior Krissy Hoeferlin finished second in all-around with a 39.050, while freshman Jennifer Simmons took third place with a 38.975. Sophomore Beth Coleman set a new collegiate-high on floor exercise with a 9.850.

On Sunday, March 7 at 2 p.m. PST the GymKats will compete in the UCLA Invitational in Los Angeles, Calif., where they will face No. 17 UCLA, California-Berkeley and Michigan State.
