HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team maintained its 14th place position from day one standings to finish out the Marshall Invitational Tournament with a score of 891, Saturday. Ohio, in eighth place after two rounds, finished in second with a score of 866. Illinois moved up one spot after day one competition to claim the championship slot for the tournament with a score of 862. UK’s Ron Layman had the best finish for the Wildcats firing a 221. He tied for 35th place in the individual competition. Sophomore Wes Furnish followed Layman with a score of 223.

Michigan’s Michael Harris set the tournament record with a final score of 208. He is the first place individual finisher. The Wildcats will see action next weekend when they travel to Athens, Ga., for the SEC Championships April 17-19.
