LAKELAND, Fla. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team is tied for 9th- place after Friday’s opening round of the Charley Matlock Classic. The Wildcats are led by seniors Ryan Loghry and Mike Cassity, who fired even-par rounds of 72. Augusta State’s Robert Duck heads the field after shooting a 6-under 66.

The 18-team tournament takes place on the 6,652-yard ImperiaLakes Golf Course. Other teams competing are Alabama, Augusta State, Columbus State, Duke, Furman, Florida Southern, Georgia Southern, Illinois, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Ole Miss, North Florida, Ohio State, Old Dominion, Virginia Commonwealth, Virginia Tech, and Wofford. The tournament continues through the weekend, with the second round on Saturday and final round set for Sunday.
