Preparation for Spring Practice: The Kentucky coaching staff is preparing for spring practice, which begins Mon. March 29 and culminates with the Blue/White Spring Game on Sat. Apr. 24. The defensive coaches are visiting the University of Nebraska this week, talking strategy with the Cornhusker coaching staff.

Players Working Out: The Wildcats are taking part in strength and conditioning workouts under the guidance of new strength coach Marc Hill and assistant strength coach Brett Brungardt. The players lift weights four days each week. Depending on their position group, players have running and conditioning workouts at least three days each week. In addition, the players are divided into 10 teams on Wednesdays and participate in “Wildcat Games,” a competition that combines fun with various conditioning activities. Points are awarded each week and one team will be declared champion on Wed. March 24, the Wednesday after the university’s spring break.

Commonwealth Stadium Construction Update: Construction crews are continuing to erect structural steel on both the east (Nutter Field House) and west (Nicholasville Road) end zones. The crews are pouring concrete for the upper concourse on the east end zone.
