Wildcats set to compete in Walsch Invitational.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (November 19, 1998) — The University of Kentucky rifle team returns toaction this weekend when it travels to Cincinnati, Ohio for the WalschInvitational Tournament on Friday, November 20.
Kentucky coach Harry Mullins is excited to get back into action.
“The Walsch Invitational is one of the larger invitational tournaments duringthe year,” Mullins said. “All the teams participating hope to showcase theirtalents because all of the top 10 teams attend.”
The Cats (2-0) have been on a three week break from competition but havebeen busy hosting the University of Kentucky Invitational Tournament overthe last two weekends. The tournament is scheduled to finish on Saturday,November 21 when UK faces rival Alaska-Fairbanks.
“This will be Alaska’s first match of the season,” Mullins said. “They arelooking to start the season with a win, and we will have to work hard tocome up with the victory.”
