Kris Comstock, OT
On the running game
“We had been working on the passing game so much in practice that the running game had slipped a little. I thought we showed a lot of improvement on Saturday.”
On the South Carolina game
“The win was a big one for us. If we were 0-3 in the SEC our bowl chances would be really damaged. It was good to get that first conference win.”
Garry Davis, WR
On his TD catch versus South Carolina
“I think the pass was tipped, but I didn’t take my eyes off the ball. It made it more difficult, but I was fortunate enough to hold on.”
On goal for the remainder of the season
“We haven’t been to a bowl since 1993. We have to win two more games to be eligible and that is our focus.”
On LSU
“LSU will be ready. They’ve lost two close SEC games in a row, just like we had. We were ready to bounce back and I’m sure they’ll be ready, too.”
Dennis Johnson, DE
On going to LSU
“I’m excited. My dad (Alvis Johnson) has been there and he tells me it can get really loud. I’m looking forward to seeing it, and hearing it, for myself.”
On getting his first start versus South Carolina “It felt good to start. I had worked hard and the coaches rewarded me. But you have to keep working hard to stay a starter, and I’m willing to do that.”
On making big plays
“You always want to help your team by making big plays. I just go out there at top speed and try to get in on the play. I may make a few mistakes, but I’m still learning.”
Craig Yeast, WR
On LSU & Tiger Stadium
“It’s loud. Florida is loud, but LSU is extremely loud. LSU is a good football team and when you couple that with the noise, it’s a very difficult place to play.”
On last years loss to LSU
“We’re a better team this year. We feel we can play with anyone in the country. We’re not going to focus on last year’s game. This year’s game is the only task at hand.”
