  • Sophomore quarterback Tim Couch completed 31 of 46 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns. It was his sixth consecutive game this season with two or more passing touchdowns. However, his streak of five consecutive 300-yard games was broken.
  • Couch broke or tied four Kentucky single-season records today. Here is the list:
  • Couch set the UK single-season record for pass attempts with 297. The old record was 266 attempts by Bill Ransdell in 1984.
  • Couch set the UK single-season record for passing yardage with 2,078. The old record was 1,823 yards by Rick Norton in 1965.
  • Couch tied the UK single-season record for passing touchdowns with 23. He shares the record with Vito “Babe” Parilli, who threw 23 TDs in 1950.
  • Couch broke the UK single-season record for total offense (rushing and passing yardage) with 1,987. The old record was 1,729 yards by Pookie Jones in 1992.
  • Craig Yeast’s 85-yard punt return is the fifth-longest punt return in school history. It is Kentucky’s first punt return for a touchdown since Chris Tolbert had a 58-yard TD return vs. Cincinnati on Nov. 4, 1989.
  • Craig Yeast continues to move up the pass receiving charts. His 41 pass receptions this season is the fourth-highest single-season total in school history. (The record is 47 by Neal Clark in 1991.) Yeast has 91 receptions in his career, second-best behind Tom Hutchinson’s 94 catches.
  • Freshman halfback Derek Homer rushed for 107 yards on 10 carries. It is the first 100-yard rushing game of his career.
  • The field goal attempt that was blocked by South Carolina was UK’s first unsuccessful kick attempt of the season. Prior to that, Brian Johnson and Seth Hanson had combined to make all 26 extra point attempts and all four field goal attempts.
