LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will host Ole Miss on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Complex, before hosting Mississippi State on Sunday at noon.
The Wildcats were ranked 38th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings after defeating Missouri 5-2 and falling to No. 3 Texas A&M 5-2. In Kentucky’s loss to Texas A&M, freshman Nadia Ravita knocked off sixth-ranked Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar.
Freshman Nadia Ravita improved her singles record to 13-2, ranking No. 38 as an individual.
The No. 54 Rebels are 2-8 at this point in the season, including an 0-4 record in Southeastern Conference play. This past weekend Ole Miss traveled to Georgia and Tennessee, falling 6-1 to Georgia on Friday before losing 4-3 to Tennessee. The Rebels boast two ranked individuals, No. 37 Caroline Rohde-Moe and No. 66 Mai El Kamash.
The Bulldogs have opened the spring 6-6, while going 0-4 in SEC matches. The team is coming off a 4-1 win over Middle Tennessee on Wednesday, after falling 7-0 to Tennessee and Georgia over the weekend.
Kentucky is 11-4 on the year, 2-2 in SEC contests.
