LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky track and field teams will split up to compete at three separate meets this weekend beginning on Friday.
Wildcat contingents will head to the 86th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by State Farm in Austin, Texas, the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., and the Oliver Nikiloff Open in Cincinnati.
Longhorn Network will provide TV coverage of the Texas Relays on Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET till 1:30 p.m. and then from 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Saturday coverage will begin at 2:30 p.m. going until 6:30 from Texas’ Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Flotrack.com will be the source for Stanford Invitational live video coverage from Cobb Track and Angell Field.
Kentucky will send a squad primarily composed of sprinters and field athletes to the Texas Relays. Wildcat distance athletes will make up the majority of UK’s contingent at the Stanford Invitational. Kentucky sprinters, field athletes and distance runners are slated to compete in the Oliver Nikiloff Open at Cincinnati’s Gettler Stadium/Coy Field.
Kentucky opened the outdoor season in strong fashion two weeks ago as a combination of seven individual competitors and relay teams won events at the University of South Florida Bulls Invitational.
The Wildcats host the first collegiate meet on Kentucky’s Lexington campus in more than a decade later this season.
The Heart of the Bluegrass Classic will be the inaugural meet at the new UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex when it is held April 19-20.
