LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the first time in program history, the Kentucky volleyball team will be featured on Lexington’s 1580 AM station all season long for home games this season. Local IMG talent will join UK’s director of volleyball operations, Mandy Robbe, on the call for 15 of UK’s home matches.

“It’s a great opportunity for our sport to continue to grow the game and allow our fans who can’t attend to still follow along with the action,” ninth-year UK head coach Craig Skinner said. “We appreciate the support of our administration and IMG to help make this happen.”

Furthermore, while on the road during Southeastern Conference action, the Wildcats will have Robbe calling the action throughout the season via UKathletics.com.

The home matches will also stream live via UKathletics.com. Live video will accompany the radio call through UK’s All-Access channel on a subscription basis.

The Wildcats have appeared on the 1580 AM channel a couple of times throughout the Craig Skinner era, but 2013 will mark the first time 15 home matches will be a part of regular programming.

Kentucky opens its 2013 home slate at 7 p.m. ET tonight against VCU as a part of the eighth-annual Kentucky Classic. Dick Gabriel and Robbe will call the action live from Memorial Coliseum to kick off the radio season.
