LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky senior placekicker Joe Mansour has been named Honorable Mention Specialist of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards after scoring a rushing touchdown on a fake field goal attempt in Kentucky’s battle with top-20 ranked Florida last Saturday.

This is the second honorable mention specialist of the week honor of the season for Mansour by the CFPA. The UK senior was also honored after Kentucky’s victory over Miami (Ohio) for making both field goals attempted.

Against the Gators, Mansour electrified the Kentucky crowd with a 25-yard rush on a fake field goal attempt for a touchdown to tie the game 7-7 late in the first quarter. Mansour is the only UK kicking specialist to score a touchdown in school history since specialists started playing only one position in the late 1960s.

For the season, Mansour is seventh in the Southeastern Conference accounting for 8.3 points per game, while also ranking second in the league and 20th in the nation in field goals per game with 1.5. Mansour is 6-for-6 in field goals this season, while also handling all kickoff duties with 19 kickoffs and seven touchbacks.

Kentucky will return to the practice fields Monday afternoon to begin its preparation for No. 13/12 South Carolina on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET inside Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C.
