LEXINGTON, Ky. – After falling in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Southeastern Conference Tournament, the University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will now set its sights on the 2013 NCAA Tournament, beginning with the selection show Monday afternoon.

The field of 64 will be announced in a live selection show to be streamed on NCAASports.com beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET. 

There will be 32 first-round host sites in the tournament, with the higher seed earning the right to host the first-round game. From then, teams are sent to one of 16 nationally-seeded sites, where they will play for a spot in the 2013 NCAA Women’s College Cup. 

The NCAA’s main criteria include the team’s RPI, results versus common opponents and head-to-head competition. 

The Wildcats have an impressive resume to show to the committee, registering wins over West Virginia, Louisville, Georgia, Dayton and Tennessee, all of who are in the top 60 of the RPI.

With an RPI in the top 40, Kentucky is expected to receive an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament for the third-straight season. If so, it will be the first time in program history that Kentucky has appeared in three-straight NCAA Tournament in program history.

UK has hosted the First Round of the NCAA Tournament each of the past two seasons, advancing for the first time in program history into the Second Round with a 1-0 overtime win over UT Martin in 2012. The Wildcats have been lethal at home the past two seasons under head coach Jon Lipsitz, going 17-3-2 in their last 22 matches at the UK Soccer Complex.
