Kentucky improves to 19-5, 9-2 in Southeastern Conference action. Auburn drops to 11-11 overall, and 3-8 against the league.
Kentucky now leads the series 89-17 and 30-13 in Auburn.
The Wildcats return to action with a home contest vs. No. 3/4 Florida at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will air live on ESPN and will be a part of ESPN’s College GameDay with a telecast beginning at 11 a.m. ET on Saturday morning.
UK’s all-time record against SEC foes now stands at 920-258.
Today’s attendance was 7,959.

Kentucky’s starting lineup was comprised of all freshmen for the third-straight outing. Aaron Harrison, Andrew Harrison, Dakari Johnson, Julius Randle and James Young formed the lineup. That squad is 4-0 on the year as the opening five.
Alex Poythress and Willie Cauley-Stein were the first subs off the bench for the second straight game. Poythress has been called upon first a squad-best 13 times while Cauley-Stein has been the first off the bench eight times this season.
Young hit a 3-pointer early in the opening half to extend UK’s 3-streak is 884 consecutive games. It is the third largest streak in the country.
Including tonight, UK is 85-3 under Coach Calipari when holding the opponent to 63 or fewer points.

Johnson scored UK’s first four points to give Kentucky an early lead in the opening half stretching it to as many as six by the 15:32 mark.
A 3-pointer by Aaron Harrison at the 12:19 mark lifted the Wildcats to a double-digit advantage with the score.
Kentucky had five assists from five different players on seven made field goals to open the stanza.
An 8-0 run by the Tigers cut the Wildcats’ lead to 18-16 with 9:53 remaining.
The lead was reduced to just one at 23-22 with less than four minutes remaining in the half, but UK closed on a 5-0 run behind the play of Poythress who scored all five tallies to take a 28-22 lead into the break.
Kentucky is 16-1 overall and 8-0 against league foes when leading at the break.

Kentucky extended its lead to nine early in the second half when Andrew Harrison nailed a 3 at the 18:32 mark, putting UK ahead 31-22.
Auburn fought back and took its first lead of the game at 36-35, when Chris Denson knocked down a jumper to give the Tigers a one-point edge.
Auburn’s 16-4 lead that put the Tigers up 38-35 featured five Wildcat turnovers.
Trailing 38-35, Kentucky scored on back-to-back lay-ins to take back the lead at 39-38.
The Wildcats used an 11-2 run to take a 50-42 advantage with 3:55 left to play.

- Led UK in rebounding for the 14th time this year.
