LEXINGTON, Ky. – Ten Wildcats, six women in seven events and four men is as many events, were named Track and Field All-Americans, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Monday.

Four of the UK women’s team members honored earned First-Team All-America status, while two were named to the second team. Two men earned first-team accolades and two were named to the second team.

Kendra Harrison was the only Wildcat to earn All-America honors in two events – the 100-meter hurdles and 400m hurdles.

Nineteen other women across the nation earned two First-Team All-America awards each.

UK’s other first-team honorees were Sha’Keela Saunders, who was the Silver Medalist in the long jump, Raymond Dykstra, the Javelin Silver Medalist, Keffri Neal who claimed Bronze in the 800m, and Allison Peare who was fifth overall in the 1,500m.

The Southeastern Conference topped the list for both the women and men with 72 and 68 respectively. The Pac-12 and Big Ten were next on the men’s side with 42 and 21, respectively, while rounding out the women’s top three were the Big 12 with 39 and the Pac-12 with 32.

Student-athletes were honored for their performances at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Eugene, Oregon.

First-Team All-America honors were awarded to those who finished among the top eight in an individual or relay event as part of a team; Second-Team All-America honors went to those who finished between ninth and 16th; and Honorable Mention honors were given to the remaining finishers.

Honorable Mention honorees are not referred to as All-Americans.

UK’s honorable mention honorees were the members of the women’s 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay, Rebecca Famurewa in the discus and hammer throw, Kenyattia Hackworth in the long jump and Cally Macumber in the 5,000m.
