USAswimming.org: Schedule, Heat Sheet and Live Video
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky swimmer Danielle Galyer has been selected to compete for the USA Swimming Junior National Team at the 2014 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, Aug. 27-30 in Maui, Hawaii.
Galyer is one of 23 competitors to represent the United States on the women’s roster. The UK sophomore qualified in the 200 LC meter backstroke and will compete in a total of six events at the four day international event.
“We are so proud of Danielle,” UK head coach Lars Jorgensen said. “She had an excellent freshman season and continued that progression this summer. It’s an awesome honor to represent your country in international competition and we are excited to see her compete on such a big stage.”
Galyer’s first race is the Women’s 200 LC Meter Freestyle, which is the first event of the competition on Aug. 27. She will also race in the 100m backstroke Wednesday.
Thursday, Galyer will compete in the 100m freestyle and Friday she races in the 400m freestyle and the 200m backstroke. The Greenville, S.C., native closes the four-day event on Saturday in the 50m freestyle.
Prelims begin at 3 p.m. ET each day, while finals will be held at 11 p.m. ET. A psych sheet, schedule and live video of the 2014 Junior Pan Pacific Championships can be found at USAswimming.org.
