KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Junior David Snyder fired a 3-under par, 69, to lead the Kentucky men’s golf team on day two of The Invitational at the Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, S.C. Snyder shot up the standings into a tie for 14th as UK finishes the second round in fourth place overall.

“The back nine today pretty much wore us out,” UK coach Brian Craig said. “We got off to a decent start, but just could not finish it off. David Snyder played very well with a 69 which is a terrific bounce back.”

Kentucky charted a 5-over par, 293, and remains in a tie for third place with a two-day total of 9-over par. South Florida leads the tournament with a collective 10-under par, 566 through 36 holes. Georgia Southern (+6) and Georgia State (+8) sit in second and third, respectively.

Snyder fired an opening day 77 and bounced back with a 69 in day two. Snyder’s round included five birdies on the afternoon to lead the Cats. Freshman Cooper Musselman is tied for fifth overall following a 1-over par, 73, on his second day of competition.

Freshman Tyler `Chip’ McDaniel is tied for 34th overall with a 4-over par, 76, while sophomore Stephen Stallings fired a four-over, 76. Senior Will Bishop rounds out the Wildcats’ scores with a 3-over, 75, to rank in a tie for 52nd.

Kentucky’s individuals Fred Allen Meyer and Todd McDaniel both shot an 80 and sit in a tie for 51st and 74th, respectively.

The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort has played host to the 2007 Senior PGA and 2012 PGA Championships and is only the fourth course to host each of the PGA of America’s major championships. Probably no other golf course in the world outside of the United Kingdom and Ireland is affected as much by the wind. Located on the eastern-most end of Kiawah Island, The Ocean Course has more seaside holes than any other course in the Northern Hemisphere.

The course is a par 72, with a total distance of 7,115 yards. Sunday’s final round of 18 will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. ET. Fans can follow along with live scoring at Golfstat.com.
