PALO ALTO, Calif. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team closed out the second day of action at the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Dr. Condoleezza Rice with a team score of 289 (+5) to push its two-day score to 573 (+5), and sixth place.
Sophomore Haley Mills led the Wildcats for the second straight day with a one-under par (70), finishing the day in a tie for fifth place. Junior Cylia Damerau shot a one-over 72 and currently sits in a tie for 20th at 142 (E) after the second round.
Ale Walker jumped up in the standings after tallying a one-under (70) round. Walker is tied for 27th with a 143 two-day score (+1). Freshman Grace Rose shot an eight over (79) to push her tournament total to 151 (+9), placing her in a tie for 61st, while junior Sarah Harris finished round two with a six-over (77) pushing her tournament score to 10-over 152. Harris sits in a tie for 64th place.
Tenth ranked UCLA finished day two at the top of the leaderboard with a total team score of 560 (-8). The Bruins have three players sitting in the top 10 individually. Completing the top five team standings are sixth ranked Stanford (-6), eighth ranked Southern California (-6), top ranked Washington (-2) and seventh ranked Northwestern (+2).
Rounding out the rest of the top 10 team after the second day are Kentucky, No. 12 Pepperdine (+9), No. 35 Iowa State (+10), No. 42 California (+12) and No. 28 Arizona State (+13).
The third and final round of the event continues Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
