MIAMI – The 16th-ranked and Conference USA-leading Kentucky men’s soccer team will conclude the road portion of its regular-season schedule at Florida International on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
The Wildcats currently top the league on 14 points, with No. 7 Charlotte hot on the Wildcats’ heels on 13 points. Charlotte plays Florida Atlantic at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
UK tied at RPI No. 22 Ohio State, 1-1, on Tuesday, extending its unbeaten run to eight games in a row, and snapping the team’s run of five-straight wins.
The Wildcats are the only undefeated team in C-USA play this season with a record of W4, L0, D2. The Wildcats are 9-3-4 overall on the season.
UK is 5-0-3 in its last eight games. UK’s current unbeaten streak stands alone as the second longest stretch in school history.
FIU is coming off a 2-0 win over FAU last week. The Panthers have won three straight to take their record this season to 6-7-1 (2-4 C-USA).
Kentucky is ranked No. 16 by the NSCAA, the team’s highest ranking this season. The Wildcats have spent four weeks in the poll (two ranked, two receiving votes).
Kentucky has registered a C-USA-best nine shutouts this season (7-0-2). The Wildcats are 12th in the NCAA in goals against average, allowing just 0.59 goals a game.
UK leads the all-time series with FIU, 6-3-1, including a 2-2-1 mark on the road.
