Kentucky improves to 8-1, while Louisville falls to 8-1.
Kentucky improves to 720-487 (61.2) all-time in 41 seasons of varsity women’s basketball and 187-89 (73.9) in the month of December.
Matthew Mitchell is in his eighth season as the head coach of the Wildcats. He already ranks first on UK’s all-time wins list with 178 and winning percentage of .716.
This was the 51st meeting between the programs since UK became a varsity sport in 1974-75.
- Kentucky now leads the all-time series 33-18 but trails 13-11 in games played in Louisville.
- UK has won the last four meetings, including two straight in Louisville.
UK is now 17-18 all-time against teams in the current alignment of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
UK snapped Louisville’s 19-game winning streak vs. non-conference teams at home.

After UK pulled to within five, Louisville went on an 11-0 run, its largest of the half to make it 32-16, the Cards’ largest lead of the game.

UK began the second half with Makayla Epps replacing Kyvin Goodin-Rogers from the original starting five.
Kentucky went on a 12-0 run to pull to within one point at 53-52 with 9:40 remaining in the game.

Louisville responded with a 5-0 run out of the timeout to push the lead back to six.
Kentucky took its first lead of the game with 6:16 remaining on a Janee Thompson free throw.
UK outscored UL 48-26 in the final 20 minutes.

- Also had an assist, a block and a steal.
- Now has 1,115 career points and needs 31 more to tie her teammate Bria Goss for No. 22 all-time.
- Has scored in double figures in eight of nine games this season.
Sophomore Linne Harper came off the bench for 12 points, 10 coming in the second half.
- Has scored double-figures points in 11 of her last 14 games dating back to last year.
- Had a season-high eight rebounds, all defensive.
Senior Bria Goss scored 11 points, seven in the first half.
- Has now scored in double figures in three-straight games.
- Went 5-of-6 from the floor, including knocking down UK’s first 3-pt FG of the game.
- Played a season-high 35 minutes.
Sophomore Makayla Epps came off the bench for 10 points and four rebounds.
- Has now scored in double figures in eight of the nine games, including six straight.
