LEXINGTON, Ky. – The ESPN Family of Networks announced on Thursday afternoon that the No. 10/10 University of Kentucky women’s basketball game against No. 2/2 South Carolina on March 1 will be flexed to a 5 p.m. ET tipoff and will be shown live on ESPN2.
The Wildcats and Gamecocks will be playing each other for the second time this season, as the two are annual permanent Southeastern Conference opponents, playing a home-and-home every year. Kentucky fell to the then top-ranked Gamecocks 68-60 in Columbia, S.C., back in January.
Kentucky is now scheduled to have five games on ESPN2 this season, one of the most-watched networks for women’s basketball, and hosts of ESPN’s annual “Big Monday”. The Wildcats have already racked up a win on ESPN2’s “Big Monday” this season, recording a 74-64 win over the No. 3 Baylor Lady Bears in front of over 22,000 fans at Rupp Arena.
UK is set to embark on a tough stretch of games over the next few weeks, a stretch that features four ranked opponents, including three in a row and two in the top 10. First up is No. 13/15 Mississippi State. The Southeastern Conference’s top two defensive teams will face off Thursday, Feb. 12 in Memorial Coliseum at 7 p.m. ET.
The game will be shown live on the SEC Network with Cara Capuano and Carolyn Peck calling the action. It also will be broadcast live on the UK Radio Network with Neil Price.
Single-game reserved tickets are available at a cost of $9 for all ages. General admission tickets for adults are $8 while single-game general admission tickets for seniors and children (ages 6-18, 65 and over) are only $5.
Children ages five and under are admitted free in the general admission seating area and UK students, faculty and staff are admitted free with valid identification.
