UK Athletics Celebrates Women's History Month
In honor of Women’s History Month for 2022,the University of Kentucky Athletics Department is shining a spotlight at various pioneers of women’s athletics in UK Athletics’ history.
With 2022 being the 50th anniversary of the signing of Title IX into law, UK will celebrate women’s athletics history throughout the year. For women’s history month, UK also celebrated the great women’s athletics pioneers from the period prior to Title IX’s enactment as well.
To start the month, UK Athletics recognized the basketball, tennis, field hockey, and track and field teams at various times from 1903-24.
