Haigis Named to SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Kentucky Gymnastics senior Anna Haigis was named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team.

The Cincinnati-native has spent time with God’s Pantry, where she volunteers to pack lunches for underserved communities in the Lexington area and deliver them to schools across the city.

She has also volunteered with the Special Olympics where she has served in both leadership and developmental roles. Additionally, she has created friendships through the Senior Citizen Pen Pal Program.

Haigis has also offered her time and service at UK HealthCare and the non-profit organization CASA. In December, the senior spent time at the American Red Cross and was a member of the Southern Lights Stroll in 2021.

Kentucky is honored to celebrate Haigis and her time spent volunteering. One student-athlete from each program is named to the SEC Community Service Team each year at the conclusion of the Championships.

Haigis was joined by Nya Reed (Florida), Emily Schild (Georgia), Hannah McCrary (Missouri), Sami Durante(LSU), Griffin James (Alabama), Adeline Sabados (Auburn), and Amanda Elswick (Arkansas) to be honored with the award.
