Candy-Stripe Land: Kentucky Baseball Travels to Indiana
Kentucky begins its most challenging week to date by hitting the road to Candy-stripe Land.
The Wildcats, off to their best start since 2018 at 14-E, will head to Bloomington to face Indiana (6-9) on Tuesday afternoon at Bart Kaufman Field. UK coach Nick Mingione is a perfect 4-0 versus the Hoosiers, including a win in Lexington in 2019 in their last meeting.
UK swept High Point over the weekend, delivering its third traditional walk-off of the season in the Sunday finale. The Cats are 11-1 on the weekend and prep for their Southeastern Conference-opening series at No. 3 Arkansas with the trip to Indiana.
Sophomore right-hander Seth Logue will get the baseball after throwing a career-best 7.0 innings in a victory over Murray State in his last start. He yielded one run on two hits and struck out eight.
Junior infielder Chase Estep continues to mash the ball, hitting .526 with home runs in three consecutive games last week after being names the SEC Player of the Week.
