Men’s Golf Adds Andrew Clark for 2021-22

LEXINGTON, Ky.– The University of Kentucky men’s golf team has added a high school state champion in Andrew Clark to its 2021-22 roster, head coach Brian Craig announced on Tuesday.

Clark hails from Winter Park, Florida, where he helped lead the Winter Park Wildcats to a state title as a sophomore and a runner-up finish his junior campaign.

“I am so excited to have Andrew Clark on campus and a member of our Kentucky men’s golf family,” Craig said. “I have known Andrew since he came to our camp quite a few years ago. I have followed his progress ever since and am impressed by the way he continues to improve.

“This current summer has been no exception with him making match play at the US Junior and narrowly missing out on a spot in the US Amateur,” Craig said. “Andrew’s high desire, exemplary character and excellence in the classroom make him a perfect fit for our team and culture. I can’t wait to start coaching him while he proudly wears the Blue and White.”

During the 2021 summer circuit, Clark had rounds of 73 and 71 at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. He tied for 10th at the FJT Grasslands Open (16-18) behind scores of 72 and 71. He also tied for 13th at the FJT Florida State University 54-Hole Major.

Clark and Winter Park captured the state title when Clark was a sophomore and then were runners-up his junior season. During the state title victory, Clark placed sixth overall.

Clark secured a third-place showing when the Wildcats finished in second. He opened the tournament with a 7-under 65, which is his career-low score. He finished second at the Metro Conference Tournament that same season.

In the spring prior to his senior season, Clark captured the Next 100 Junior Invitational Title in a playoff.

He capped his career with all-area accolades and earned fourth-place finishes at districts and regionals as a junior.

Clark rounds out UK’s roster for the upcoming 2021-22 season. The Wildcats will field a roster featuring a sixth-year graduate student, two seniors, three juniors, four sophomores and a freshman.
