Opening Round of Kiawah Invitational Cancelled
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky men’s golf team will have to wait another day to get its spring schedule underway. The opening round of the Kiawah Invitational was cancelled due to heavy rain in the area.
The 14-team field will now begin play on Monday at 8 a.m. ET. The teams will play 36 continuous holes and finish the tournament with 18 holes on Tuesday.
The tournament is being played at the Oak Point course at the Kiawah Island Resort in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. In addition to the Wildcats, the field consists of Clemson, College of Charleston, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue, Rutgers, UNC-Wilmington, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.
It will mark the first event of the season that is not comprised entirely of Southeastern Conference foes for UK. All three fall events only consisted of the league’s 14 member institutions.

Kentucky will field a lineup of Jacob Cook, Reid Bedell, Cooper Parks, Allen Hamilton and Zach Norris. Hugo Archer, Jackson LaLonde and Jay Kirchdorfer will also compete as individuals.
