UKTF Adds Six Key Additions in Early Summer 2020

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Track and Field Program announced the additions of six new Wildcats to the program for the 2020-21 school year.

The men’s team added transfer pole vaulter Keaton Daniels, and freshmen throwers Daroyce Flemons and Ezarious Roller. The women’s team added transfer hurdlers Amaya Chadwick and Karimah Davis as well as junior transfer thrower Jade Gates.

This initial group of summer additions include Division I All-America honors, an individual DI Conference Title and four DI Conference medals, a dozen High-School All-America honors and five prep State Titles.

Men’s Team Additions

Keaton Daniel

Keaton Daniel – Transfer – Sophomore – Pole Vault

PB: PV: 17’7.25″/5.37m

Cleared 17’7.25″/5.37m in his 2020 outdoor season opener, before the season was cut short. AAU Junior Olympic Champion. Two-time State Champion in High School.  Son to Chris and Jennifer, brother to Cade, Kaylee and Kennedy.

Daroyce Flemons

Daroyce Flemons – Freshman – Throws

PB: DT: 171’10″/52.37m

Kentucky State Champion in the discus in 2019 and scorer in the meet the year prior. One of the top throws prospects in the state who will continue the strong tradition of in-state Wildcats.

Ezarious Roller

Ezarious Roller – Freshman – Throws

PB: DT: 162’10″/49.63m

Kentucky Bronze Medalist in the 2019 discus. Also a scorer at the Kentucky State Meet in 2018. A highly-ranked throws prospect within the Commonwealth of Kentucky who will be expected to continue the strong tradition of in-state Wildcats.

Women’s Team Additions

Amaya Chadwick

Amaya Chadwick – Transfer – Junior – Hurdles

PBs: 60H: 8.30 | 100H: 13.77

B1G 60H and 100H scorer in her first two years at Purdue. New Jersey State Champion. New Balance Nationals Champion in the 60H. Went to the same High School as Kentucky legend Sydney McLaughlin.

Karimah Davis

Karimah Davis – Transfer – Junior – Hurdles

PBs: 100m: 11.40 | 200m: 23.28 | 400m: 52.98

First Team All-America in 2019 on Florida State’s 4x100m relay. Three-Time ACC Silver Medalist. ACC Outdoor Silver Medalist in the 4×1 and scorer in the open 400m. Double ACC Indoor Silver Medalist in the individual 200m and 400m. New Balance Nationals 400m Silver Medalist in 2017, trailing only Wildcat legend Sydney McLaughlin. Florida State Champion in the 400m in 2016. Nine-time HS All-America. Daughter of Jamine and Arthur Diaz. Birthday is Nov. 23.

Jade Gates

Jade Gates – Transfer – Junior – Throws

PBs: SP: 46’2.5″/14.08m | DT: 140’9″/42.91m | 66’3.25″/20.20m

2020 Big East Champion in the weight throw. Also a Big East scorer in the shot put. 2019 Big East Bronze Medalist in the discus. Daughter of John Gates and Felicia Lewis … Has two brothers, Adrian Lewis and John Gates, and one sister, Jasira Gates.
