No. 16 Kentucky to Host No. 15 FIU in Return to C-USA Schedule

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Coming off its fifth consecutive shutout in perhaps its most high-profile match of the regular season, No. 16 Kentucky (6-1-3, 1-0-1 Conference USA) is set to return home for its first league match in three weeks versus No. 15 FIU (8-0-3, 3-0 C-USA) on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.

Kentucky tied No. 4 Indiana last Wednesday in Bloomington, Indiana, for the first time since 2008. Without a goal from either side, UK goalkeeper Enrique Facusse earned the sixth clean sheet of his junior season and extended his time on the field without having to recover a ball from the back of the net to 536 minutes.

The double-overtime stalemate was the Wildcats’ second straight match away from home, following a 1-0 defeat of ETSU on Oct. 5. The pair of nonconference battles were preceded by a 2-0 win over Bowling Green on Sept. 24 and a 1-0 victory over Coastal Carolina on Sept. 28 at Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex.

FIU, one of three C-USA teams with three conference wins, will face its first opponent outside the bottom four of the league standings when it visits Lexington. Sunday marks the Panthers’ fifth road tilt in a row, most recently following a 3-2 win over Florida Gulf Coast last Tuesday.

Kentucky’s ongoing eight-installment unbeaten streak versus C-USA opponents was sparked after a 3-2 loss at FIU on Oct. 7, 2018.
