Men’s Golf Returns to Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate for 15th Straight Year
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky men’s golf team will begin its third tournament in 14 days when the Wildcats tee off at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate on Sunday. The Wildcats will compete in the three-day, 54-hole event for the 15th consecutive season.
The Wildcats will utilize the same lineup they took to the Schenkel Invitational where all five starters finished among the top 25 on the individual leaderboard.
“My guys love Bulls Bay, and they love the Hootie event,” UK head coach Brian Craig said. “As usual, there is a good field and we will be ready to play. I like the direction we are heading and think our best golf is in front of us.”
Bulls Bay Golf Club will play at a par 72 over a long 7,220 yards. It’s a 54-hole event with 18 holes taking place on each day. Live scoring will be available via birdiefire.com.
During the spring season, the Wildcats have generated eight top 20 individual finishes and three players have finished among the top 10. Senior Lukas Euler’s runner-up finish at the General Hackler Collegiate leads the way. Euler is also producing a team-best 71.22 stroke average over three spring events.
Joining Euler this week in the starting lineup are fellow seniors Max Mehles and Fred Allen Meyer. Meyer and Mehles tied for 16th last week at the Schenkel Invitational. Meyer also had a top-10 finish at the General Hackler.
Freshman Cullan Brown makes his third collegiate start after matching Mehles and Meyer with a tie for 16th at the Schenkel. Rounding out the lineup is junior Matt Liston who has carded a par-or-better round in four of his last five rounds.
