Team Records and Series Notes

• Kentucky moves to 23-6 on the year and 10-5 in the league while Texas A&M is now 22-6, 11-4 in the SEC.
• Texas A&M leads the all-time series in games played against Kentucky, 6-4, including a 3-1 mark in games played in Lexington.
  • The road team in the game has won six of the last eight meetings in the series.
  • The two teams met earlier this season in College Station with the Aggies winning 73-71.

• UK is now 821-538 all-time in its 45 years as a program.
  • Matthew Mitchell is in his 12th year with the Wildcats and holds a 279-123 record. Mitchell is 309-152 overall in 14 years as a head coach.
• Kentucky is ranked No. 11 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 13 in the USA Today/Coaches Top 25.
• Kentucky’s loss snaps a six-game winning streak for the Wildcats, which was its longest of the year in conference play and the longest active streak in the league.
• The Wildcats will return to action Sunday at Georgia at 1 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+, while Darren Headrick will have the call on radio on the UK Sports Network.

 
Team Notes

• Kentucky used the starting combination of senior guard Taylor Murray, senior guard Maci Morris, freshman guard Rhyne Howard, sophomore forward KeKe McKinney and sophomore forward Tatyana Wyatt.
  • The Wildcats are 20-5 this season when using this starting combination. 
• The Aggies started the game on a 9-2 run to force a Kentucky timeout with 7:21 to go in the first quarter.
  • Texas A&M hit four of its first four shots and went 8-of-16 overall from the field to take a 19-7 lead into the second quarter.
  • UK went just 3-of-13 from the field in the first quarter for seven points, which was its lowest scoring first quarter this season and tied the lowest scoring output in any quarter this season.
• The Wildcats outscored the Aggies 19-9 in the second quarter to cut the halftime lead to 28-26.
  • UK went on a 19-3 run in the second quarter to take a one-point lead at 26-25 with 1:26 remaining in the half before the Aggies hit three free-throws in the final minutes to retake the lead into the break.
  • Part of the comeback for Kentucky was a 12-0 run in the second quarter which was the second longest run of the season for UK against an SEC opponent.
  • UK went 7-of-16 from the field in the second quarter while the Aggies went 2-of-14. 
• Kentucky retook the lead at 41-40 with 3:40 left in the third quarter but the Aggies answered with a 8-0 run to force a UK timeout up 48-41 with 2:07 left in the quarter.
• The Wildcats started the fourth quarter on a 9-3 run to cut the Aggies lead to one at 54-53 with 6:16 lefty in the game but the Aggies ended the game on 8-2 run to seal the 62-55 win. 
• UK shot 36.1 percent from the field in the game while the Aggies shot 41.1 percent.
  • The Wildcats are now 7-6 this season when they shoot a lower percentage than their opponents and 3-5 in league play.

 
Player Notes

• Senior guard Taylor Murray scored nine points with five assists and three steals.

  • Murray now has 1,319 career points and ranks 19th all-time in points scored.
  • Murray has 432 career assists which ranks sixth most in program history. She needs 10 more to tie Stacey Reed for fifth all-time in program history.
  • Murray has 275 career steals which ranks tied for fifth most in program history. She needs three more steals to move into the top five in program history.

• Freshman guard Rhyne Howard scored seven points with three rebounds.

  • Howard has scored 457 points this season which ranks third most by a freshman in a season in program history. She needs 36 more point to tie A’dia Mathies for second. She needs 184 more points to tie Valerie Still for the program record.
  • Howard has hit 67 3-pointers this season, which is the most ever by a true freshman in a single season in program history.
  • She has 62 steals, which ranks third most by a freshman in program history.
  • Her 185 rebounds is fifth most all-time by a freshman in program history. 
• Senior guard Maci Morris led Kentucky with 11 points, hitting three 3s.
  • Morris now has 1,641 career points, which ranks sixth most in program history. She needs 149 more point to tie Makayla Epps for fifth all-time in school history in points scored.
  • Morris has 245 career 3-pointers made which ranks second in program history. She needs 26 more 3s to tie Sara Potts for most all time.
  • Morris has hit at least one 3-pointer in 106 of 125 career games played.
• Sophomore forward Tatyana Wyatt scored 10 points with five rebounds.
  • Wyatt has scored in double figures in back-to-back games for the first time this season.
  • She has five rebounds in each of the last two games.
