Team Records and Series Notes

• With the loss, Kentucky is 4-2 and 2-2 in the Southeastern Conference. With the win, Auburn is 4-2 and 1-2 in the SEC.
• Auburn leads the all-time series, 26-6-1, including a 13-4 record in games played in Lexington.
  • Auburn has won nine consecutive meetings vs. UK in Lexington and has won 17 of the last 18 meetings in the series.
• The game marked the first Thursday game in The New CWS history and the first Thursday home game since 1939.
• Kentucky will return to action on Oct. 24 at Mississippi State at 7 p.m. ET with the game televised live on the SEC Network, and will be broadcast on the UK Sports Radio Network, with Tom Leach, Jeff Piecoro and Dick Gabriel voicing the action.

Individual Notes

• Junior QB Patrick Towles made his 18th consecutive start.
  • Towles threw for 300+ yards for the second consecutive game and the fifth time in his career.
  • Towles was 27-for-44 for 359 yards, adding 12 rushing yards on seven carries.
  • Towles now has 4,463 passing yards in his career, passing Randy Jenkins (1979-83) and Babe Parilli (1949-51) for seventh in UK history.
  • Comparing UK’s historical QBs through six games into their junior seasons shows that Towles ranks just behind Jared Lorenzen (2000-03; 7,134) and Tim Couch (1996-98; 6,551) with his 4,460 career passing yards.
  • In the second half of 2015, Towles is 62-for-104 for 682 yards, five TDs and two interceptions.
• Sophomore WR Garrett Johnson nabbed a career-high nine catches, going for 160 yards.
  • Johnson notched his third career 100+ yard receiving game and his second of 2015.
  • Johnson’s 160 yards mark the most receiving yards for a UK player since Chris Matthews (2009-10) had 177 yards on 12 catches in 2010 vs. South Carolina.
• Sophomore TB Boom Williams led UK on the ground with 113 yards on 16 carries, including two TDs.
  • A 60-yard rush in the first quarter was the second-longest rush of the year for Kentucky.
    • Williams has seven career rushes of at least 40 yards, including two in 2015.
  • Williams rushed for a pair of TDs, his second career two TD game.
  • Williams has three TD rushes in 2015 and eight in his career.
  • Williams recorded his fifth career 100+ yard rushing game and his third of the 2015 season.

• Junior S Marcus McWilson tied his career high with 10 tackles, equaling his output at LSU in 2014.
• Sophomore Austin MacGinnis made a 28-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 31-yarder in the third quarter.
  • MacGinnis is 8-for-9 in 2015 and 29-for-36 in his career.
  • From 20-29 yards in his career, MacGinnis is 9-for-10 and 5-for-5 in 2015.
  • From 30-39 yards in his career, MacGinnis is and 10-for-11 in his career and 1-for-1 in 2015.
• Junior DE/LB Jason Hatcher tied his career high with seven tackles.
  • Hatcher notched his first sack of the year and now has 4.5 in his career.
• Senior LB Khalid Henderson had four tackles and half a tackle for loss.
  • Henderson has nine tackles for loss in his career, including 2.5 in 2015.
• Sophomore DT Matt Elam tied his career high with six tackles.
• Freshman CB Chris Westry notched a career-high six tackles, including half a tackle for a loss and one pass break-up.

• Senior LB Josh Forrest had nine tackles and his first QB hurry of the year and the third of his career.
• Sophomore WR Dorian Baker had six catches for 66 yards.
• Junior RB Jojo Kemp now has 1,054 rushing yards in his career, ranking 30th in UK history.
• Sophomore TB Mikel Horton rushed for his third TD of the year and the fifth of his career.
