Kentucky Looks to Carry Momentum Into Week Eight
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Coming off its most impressive performance and result of the season on Friday night in a 3-0 win over LSU, the Kentucky women’s soccer will host the Vanderbilt Commodores at the Bell Soccer Complex on Thursday night.
Kickoff on Thursday night against Vandy is at 7:30 p.m. ET before a Sunday trip to Starkville, Miss., to round out week eight of the 2017 season.
The UK/VU match will be shown live on the SEC Network+, ESPN3 and the ESPN app with Dave Baker and Stuart Pope on the call from Lexington.
Kentucky got two goals from Sophie Babo and an opening goal from Gina Crosetti in a 3-0 win over LSU on Friday night, marking UK’s first SEC win in over 340 calendar days. The Wildcats held the potent LSU attack to just six shots on the match and goalkeeper Evangeline Soucie was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office.
Vanderbilt is currently sitting on 10 points in the SEC table with a 3-0-1 conference record through the opening four fixtures of conference action. Mississippi State is also in the qualification zone for Orange Beach, having recorded five points through four matches thus far with a 1-1-2 conference record.
Sunday’s match at MSU Soccer Stadium will kick off at 3 p.m. ET from Starkville.
