UK Men's Soccer Continues Road Stretch Saturday at Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – With two overtime wins already to its credit this season, the Kentucky men’s soccer team will begin the month of September in Memphis.

The Wildcats will visit the Tigers on Saturday, and the match has been moved up to a 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT kickoff. The game was originally planned to be played at an off-campus site under the lights, but do to conditions associated with Tropical Storm Harvey, officials decided to move the game back onto Memphis’ on-campus Park Avenue Pitch in an afternoon window.

Memphis will stream the match via a paid service, and provide live results.

The setup
Kentucky will be playing a second straight match in the state of Tennessee. Saturday’s showdown will take place in the western reach of the state, after Kentucky won 1-0 in double overtime at East Tennessee State University on Tuesday.

Kentucky’s 2017 record is won 2, lost 0, drew 0.
 
Memphis goes into Saturday with a 0-1-1 record, with a draw against Belmont and a home loss to UAB in the home opener.

Saturday’s competition will mark second of a three-match road stretch that will conclude at Louisville on Tuesday.

The history
Kentucky and Memphis last played in 2015 —  a 0-0 draw over 110 minutes at The Bell.
 
Kentucky is 5-4-4 all-time with ties in two of the last three matches.

The notes
Freshman goalkeeper Enrique Facusse has played every minute of the season, conceding one goal in the first two matches of his career.

Senior forward Stefan Stojkovic scored a brace at ETSU in midweek. He got on the scoresheet for the first time since 2015, and now has a team-best, nine-career goals. Andrew McKelvey is the only other Wildcat to score this year.

Kentucky has scored two of its three goals this season off corner kicks – both of them overtime winners.

UK has not conceded a goal in the run of play this season.
