Tiger Woods’ void on the PGA Tour is going to effect anyone and everyone in professional golf, including former UK golfer J.B. Holmes.
In the absence of Woods, Holmes has skyrocketed to No. 11 in ESPN.com’s golf power rankings. ESPN.com has put together a very open (and tentative) rankings of the world’s top 20 players, without Woods, of course.
ESPN.com makes sure to note that the rankings aren’t necessarily a list of the world’s most talented players, only a compilation of the the hottest teams. It’s also a list of people they believe are on the verge of a big 2010 without Tiger.
Holmes currently ranks 11th on the PGA Tour money list with $971,905. The former UK star has notched two top-10 finishes in four starts this season.
Holmes has two career victories on the PGA Tour, both coming at the FBR Open. He played at UK from 2002-05.
