Moments after tweeting out that men’s basketball head coach John Calipari would receive a contract extension in the near future, Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart announced on Twitter on Friday that softball coach Rachel Lawson would receive a new deal as well.

The details of the contract have not been released yet but will be made available Monday at a news conference.

Lawson has guided the UK softball team to three straight NCAA Tournament apperances, including the program’s first Super Regional apperance this past season.
