This week, fans will have a chance to have a chance to own a piece of history and help a good cause at the same time.Northwestern Mutual announced its purchase of the floor on which the Kentucky Wildcats won their eighth national championship last month. Parts of the floor will grace UK’s new locker room in Rupp Arena, but the rest of it has been broken up into 300 pieces, which will be sold in an online auction that will begin on Thursday. All of the proceeds from the auction will go toward the fight against pediatric cancer here in the Commonwealth. The auction will begin at noon and will last until Thursday, Oct. 18 at noon. Bidding will begin at $500 and the 300 highest bidders will receive an 18 by 12 inch piece of the floor.
