Clara Strack Crowned USBWA National Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Clara Strack has been crowned a U.S. Basketball Writers Association Ann Meyers Drysdale Player of the Week, it was announced by the organization Tuesday.

This is her second national player of the week recognition this season and her third at UK.

The junior center dropped a career-high 33 points and 15 rebounds for her 11th double-double of the season in a bounce back win at Arkansas on Sunday, 93-73.

With her career-high 33 points, she eclipsed 1,000 points for her college career.

Strack is the first player in program history to have at least 33 points and 15 rebounds against a Southeastern Conference opponent. She also is just the third SEC player to have at least 33 points and 15 rebounds in an SEC road game since 2002-03.

Her 33 points came off 65.0 percent shooting (13-of-20).

In the fourth quarter alone, Strack went 4-of-4 from the field, 1-of-1 from the arc and 1-of-1 from the line, and tacked on four rebounds, to lead Kentucky to a fourth-quarter, school-record 92.3 field-goal percentage on 12-of-13 shooting as a team in the final stanza.

With her 3-pointer in the fourth quarter, she also continued her streak of being the only Power 4 player to have at least 16.0 points per game, 10.0 rebounds and at least 16 3s in 2025-26.

Moreover, her 33 points helped Kentucky put up its most points against Arkansas in program history (93).

Overall this season, Strack is averaging 16.2 points per game, 10.4 rebounds per game (15th in the nation), 2.74 blocks per game (fifth in the nation), 1.78 assists per game and 1.39 steals per game. Her 11 double-doubles are 13th in the nation. Moreover, her 63 blocks are 10 away from tying the school record she set just a season ago.
