UKTF Picks Up 19 Outdoor All-America Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. –
Kentucky track and field Wildcats combined to earn 19 All-America honors, 10
first-team honors and nine second-team honors, from the recently completed outdoor
season, the
United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association

announced.

The Kentucky women’s team, which finished 11th at the NCAA Outdoor
Championships, had eight first team All-America selections. The UK women’s team
had seven second team selections.

The Kentucky men’s team, which finished 22nd at NCAAs, had two fist
team All-Americans, and two second team All-Americans.

All of Kentucky’s first team All-America selections retain eligibility for the
2017 season.

First team All-America status is earned by placing in the top-eight, in other
words scoring points, at the NCAA Championships. Second-team status is earned
by placing ninth-16th. Honorable mention status goes to finishers
outside the top 16.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn – who became the first freshman in history to win the
NCAA 100-meter hurdles – led Kentucky with three selections to the first team
(200m, 100m hurdles and 4x100m relay).

Kiah Seymour earned first-team honors in the 400m hurdles as she claimed the
silver medal in that event with a lifetime-best time of 54.67, which also ranks
No. 9 in the world and sixth in the United States this season.

Nick Anderson and Jacob Thomson each earned their first All-America selections.
Anderson claimed the NCAA Silver Medal in the 110m hurdles, while Thomson
placed sixth in the 10k.

Freshman Kianna Gray earned two first-team honors from her first NCAA Outdoor
Championships as she made the 100m final and was also the anchor of UK’s 4x100m
relay.

Camacho-Quinn and Gray were joined by Destiny Carter and Javianne Oliver as
first-team selections in the 4x100m relay as they placed fifth in the NCAA
final. Precious Hitchcock ran the third leg in the 4x100m relay prelims.

Oliver, Seymour Carter were first team All-Americans indoors — Oliver in the 60m, and Seymour and Carter on UK’s 4x400m relay.
